1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the Maflekumen Journals website ("the Site") and services ("the Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access or use our Services.
These Terms apply to all visitors, users, authors, reviewers, editors, and others who access or use our Services.
2. About Our Services
Maflekumen Journals is an academic publishing platform that publishes peer-reviewed research articles in the fields of health, business, education, and management. We operate the following journals:
- MCHRJ: Maflekumen Community Health and Research Journal
- MJBEM: Maflekumen Journal of Business, Education and Management
3. Author Obligations and Responsibilities
3.1 Submission Requirements
Authors who submit manuscripts agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information about authorship and affiliations
- Ensure that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the submission
- Disclose any conflicts of interest
- Confirm that the manuscript is original and has not been published elsewhere
- Comply with relevant ethical guidelines and obtain necessary approvals for research involving human or animal subjects
3.2 Publication Fees
Submission is free of charge. However, if a manuscript is accepted for publication:
- Authors must pay the applicable Article Processing Charge (APC) as specified on our APC page
- Payment must be made within the timeframe specified in the acceptance notification
- Failure to pay may result in withdrawal of the acceptance or delayed publication
- Refunds are not provided for accepted manuscripts that are later withdrawn by the author
3.3 Copyright and Licensing
By submitting a manuscript, authors grant Maflekumen Journals:
- The right to publish, distribute, and make the article publicly available
- The right to assign a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to the published article
- The right to include the article in indexing services and academic databases
- Authors retain copyright to their work and may republish in other venues with proper attribution
4. Peer Review Process
All submitted manuscripts undergo peer review:
- Reviews are conducted by independent experts in the relevant field
- The review process is confidential and double-blind where applicable
- Editorial decisions (accept, revise, or reject) are final and are based on academic merit
- We reserve the right to reject manuscripts that do not meet our standards or align with our scope
- We do not provide detailed feedback for all rejected manuscripts
5. User Accounts
When you create an account on our platform, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain and update your information as necessary
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent activity.
6. Intellectual Property Rights
6.1 Content Ownership
The content on our website, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is owned by Maflekumen Journals or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
6.2 Author Rights
Authors retain copyright to their published articles. Published articles are made available under open access principles, allowing free access for non-commercial use with proper attribution.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Submit plagiarized, fraudulent, or misleading content
- Submit manuscripts that have been published elsewhere without disclosure
- Engage in any form of academic misconduct, including data fabrication or falsification
- Attempt to interfere with or compromise the integrity of our review process
- Use automated systems to access our Services without permission
- Transmit viruses, malware, or any harmful code
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
8. Disclaimers
Our Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee:
- That our Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- The accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information on the Site
- That published articles will achieve specific citation counts or impact metrics
- That manuscripts will be accepted for publication
The views and opinions expressed in published articles are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of Maflekumen Journals.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Maflekumen Journals shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of our Services.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Maflekumen Journals, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of our Services, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any rights of another party.
11. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to our Services immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination:
- Your right to use the Services will cease immediately
- We may delete your account and related information
- Published articles will remain accessible in accordance with our archiving policies

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of our Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Cameroon, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our Services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Cameroon.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
